Hammond Power Solutions’ HPS Titan Encapsulated Transformer for Harsh Environments provides final voltage transformation in the electric power distribution system found in industrial, petrochemical, marine and mining environments. The Titan transformer is designed for high performance and efficiency while still being able to withstand hazardous locations.
Both single- and three-phase Titan transformers are rated for five primary input voltage groups: 120, 208/240/277, 347/380, 240/480, and 600V. Single-phase transformers have output power ratings from 0.50 kVA to 37.5 kVA, and three-phase transformers are power rated from 6 kVA to 150 kVA.
All Titan units are encapsulated with electrical grade silica and resin compounds, which completely enclose the core and coil to seal out moisture, airborne contaminants and eliminates corrosion and deterioration. The standard enclosure is Heavy Duty Type 3R, with optional Type 4, 4X (stainless steel) and 12 enclosures available as needed.
Electrostatic shielding is optional on the 0.5 kVA single-phase transformer, and standard on all other units.
To operate in harsh environments, the Titan series is UL Listed for “Class 1, Division 2, Groups A, B, C and D Hazardous Locations,” and also meet ABS Type Approval for “Marine Duty Service and Offshore Applications – Electrical Distribution and Propulsion.” The HPS Titan Series also has a North American Temperature Classification of T3C, ensuring the transformers will remain cool under load.
All single-phase Titan transformers are installed via standard wall mounting with keyhole mounting slots. Three-phase transformers are standard wall mounted up to 15 kVA. An optional wall mounting kit is required up to 45 kVA, and units up to 150 kVA are floor mounted.
Rear and side conduit knockouts provide entry to easily accessible and spacious wiring compartments.
