Ready-to-Use, Out-of-the-Box specifications mean the KBAC drive is easy to install and operate. The Common Sense Programming (CSP) platform can get your drive up and running in under ten minutes, with no extra commissioning required during setup.
Proprietary command line software built into the KBAC provides overload protection, prevents motor burnout and eliminates nuisance tripping. Each feature will help your motor application last longer.
Where the KBAC drive stands apart from the KBDA drive is with a feature set that provides quick access to some of the drive’s core design attributes.
A factory-installed on/off AC Line Switch available on several models establishes an additional safety feature within the drive. The switch is equipped with a mechanical interlock that prevents the drive cover from opening unless the switch is set to the “OFF” position. A lockout feature is also included so the KBAC can conform to your facility’s lockout/tagout procedure.
Another feature now available on the updated KBAC drive is a jumper-selectable switch to quickly adjust the drive’s frequency.
An 8 kHz setting is factory-selected and suitable for most applications, including general machinery and equipment that requires constant torque operation. The drive can easily be toggled to operate at 12 kHz, more suitable for variable torque applications like HVAC systems, fans and pumps.
Additional jumpers accessed on the back of the drive allow the user to tune the drive for better performance and more specific operations. The J10 jumper switched to its VT position will reduce motor noise and improve efficiency. The J12 jumper can adjust the drive’s switching frequency, from standard to sensitive. A total of 12 jumper selections are available.
All KBAC Hybrid Drives feature:
- A hinged NEMA 4X / IP65 enclosure that is watertight and suitable for outdoor use
- Sensorless Flux Vector Control to regulate speed with high torque load throughout the drive’s entire speed range
- Inrush Current Limit Protection to prevent harmful inrush current during startup
- Regeneration Protection that can handle the high bus voltage caused by rapid deceleration of high inertial loads
- And much, much more!
